In the name of Allah, most gracious and merciful
Assalamu Alaikkum,
Naming new born babies is very important aspect which determines the future of the babies.
Naming a person is to call an individual (not the external form-body but the internally thinking and soul natured person) by name which should be meaningful because the names are psychologically affecting individuals either positive or negative.
Whenever we remember a person's name and call him/her name, he/she is happy. It’s our responsibility to introduce ourselves with our correct names, and explain how they can pronounce the names correctly.
All of us have been observing in our place calling people by bad names or twisted names which are really affecting them negatively. It’s actually originated as a fun calling, due the course it’s becoming permanent. We need more awareness about this calling by bad names. Parents and educational institutes have responsibilities to focus on this point, similarly disciplining children in other moral values, and good characters.
Nowadays because of education in the current generation, people are opting for even difficult to pronounce names from Arabic or Farsi even. Pronouncing a name is very important. Pronouncing Arabic language words (names) are sensitive to even slight variation. Some people argue that pronouncing is not that much important, may be in informal ways. As educated personnel we need to follow correct pronunciation everywhere. By unawareness, mistake incorrect pronunciation could be accepted, but deliberately pronouncing wrong way is not acceptable. Our way of speaking observed by others would give right or wrong impression about us. Sometimes just for nice sound people select wrong meaning names.
محمد should be pronounced as 'Muhammed' instead of Mohamed
احمد should be pronounced as 'Ahmed' instead of Ahamed
People generally call others by names, which are the identities.
Almighty Allah has 99 names which are unique attributes of God Almighty no other religion has such amazing well defined unique attribute names to The God.
Family names are also linked with the people's name in Arab communties, Malalayalam communities and of course in Adirampattinam. A father in Arab communities called by first son’s name by prepending the word ‘Abu’. Accordingly I am Abu Ahamed Mubarak(Father of Ahamed Mubarak), called by Arabic colleagues and Arabic friends.
The scholars are recommending to use full form in the religious words, without implied short forms.
Since we are able to type in using computers, pdas, smart phones, we must be comfortable in writing in full form. Just few strokes extra towards desirable things for giving religious importance.
Allah Subuhanh Wathaalah instead of (SWT)
Assalamu Alaikkum instead of salam.
Assalamu Alaikkum Warahmathullah instead of Assalamu Alaikkum (Warah)
Assalamu Alaikkum Warahmathullahi Wa Barakathuhu instead of Assalamu Alaikkum (Warah)
Prophet Muhammed Sallallahu Alaihiwasallam instead of Muhammed(Sal)
Whenever we read the short form written we usually not pronouncing the full form. So no real use writing in short form.
Even in the case of SMS we can write in full form for the sake of keeping genuineness or holiness of our ‘Deen’ let’s spend few extra cents for typing in full forms. There are billions are spent for religious causes.
I think calling the names personally, and using spiritually important words in full form are possible only by more awareness, more maturity of individuals and communities by right education. Shall we become more responsible and careful in naming and calling, InshaAllah?

We will be thankful to those scholars who can research and teach us how to call or write the names often mis -spelt & mistaken. For example the name Muhyaddeen being called as Mohideen, Moideen, Maideen Mommeen etc.,
Good concept bro Ahamed Ameen,
Name is the only all time property which every human own. Surprisingly, name is the only belonging which is used by others more than the owner.
It probably is bit difficult for other language speaking people to bring the exact accent of arabic names but can always give a try to pronounce properly.
I know Tamils who call Seisangar, em Si yaar, sivaasi, etc. I know KMC students who said, " I have 2 Jim card. Any jajjajan whereas he wanted to say, " I ave 2 sim cards. Any suggesstions?
However, we shouldn't blame for not speaking with proper accent but pronunciation must be correct.
best wishes, brother.
Dear Brother Ameen,
Assalaamu Alaikkum Warahmathullahi Wabarakkathahu,
I am immensely glad to read your article which reflects my long-time struggling to prove my name's spelling. Even I had e-mailed to Ex.President of India to correct the spelling of his name, he is not taking care and I have not yet received reply for my mail. Himself and myself were named after the great leader MOULANA ABULKALAM AAZAAD. Those who read the name of this great leader are not making mistake whereas the name of Ex-President is being wrongly read and written as ABDUL KALAM as himself is doing the same.
ABDUL KALAM = ABD+AL+KALAM= "Slave of Speech.
ABUL KALAM = ABU+AL+KALAM = Father of Speech.
As you have mentioned in this article: //Almighty Allah has 99 names which are unique attributes of God Almighty no other religion has such amazing well defined unique attribute names to The God.//, We have to use ABDUL before one of these 99 names of Allah only.
Also, after fixing ABDUL with the name of Allah (ex: ABDUL JALEEL) we are missing ABDUL and calling JALEEL only.
Jazakkallah khairan for supporting my views thru your valuable article.
Assalaamu Alaikkum Warahmathullahi Wabarakkathahu,
Valuable article which are having more important points while we naming and calling our childrens. There is nothing left by our prophet muhammadh sallallahu alaihi wasallam in his life to guide our ummath. In all aspects from birth to death all shown by him must be followed by us for the healthy and wealthy life of dunya and aagira. Insha Allah.

Dear brother Mr. Abul Kalam,
Alhamdulillah... I am thankful to God Almighty and satisfied that I am resonating with your thoughts in this discussed concepts.
In the name 99 names of Almighty Allah, amazingly there is no attribute 'أب' - 'Ab' which means father to Him. Scholars have said that this particular attribute 'أب' 'ab' - 'father' to The God is avaiable in Christianity in trinity concepts. That makes 'God' in christianity similar to human being (who begot a son, Jesus) which contradicts Islamic principles about Allah Subhanah Wataalaa.
Thanks and best regards,
Assalamu Alaikkum

Thanks for your feedback.
The blog readers around 95% are well versed in English language. I have been contributing my thoughts through various articles and comments as feedbacks to our community related blogs Adirai Nirubar and Adirai Express, etc., by my intention to enrich knowledge and English skills of our community.
And we can positively consider an article getting published in English language in tamil blog(AN) as a special feature of the blog.
This particular article targets our Islamic Community of Adirampattinam people all over the world.
Eg. Our children who study in English medium(local and overseas) can be encouraged to go through these English article(like essay reading) from our community blogs.
For your information, I have been writing comments in The Hindu, New Indian Express, Gulf News etc. particularly on religion related and spreading truth, arguing and inviting atheists towards Islam.
Thanks and best regards,
MaAssalamah.

Dear brother Mr. Abdul Malik,
//Better to understand exact word and pronounce//
Knowledge is very important in following Islam. Please observe Almighty Allah and Prophet Mohammed Sallalahu Alaihiwasallam encourage muslims to think and strive to study and learn, and to use intellectual faculties.
Every muslim has an added advantage of making intellectual effort in learning atleast to read arabic language(mostly another language to non-arabic people) so that he/she can pray five times, and make effort to teach and learn the islamic principles and concepts and to improve his/her spirituality level.
Thanks and best regards.

நானும் இதனை வழி மொழிகிறேன்.
Language is the media which express our thoughts and words only. But the concept of the article is important.
Our Prophet Muhammadh sallallahu alaihivasallam also delivered his speech in Hajjathul vidaa - during on his last haj pilgrimage after he got many sahaabas Raliyallahu anhoom who embrassed islaam. Said to them that there is no difference between those who are speaking arab and non-arab but thaqwa in the sight of Allah Subhanahutha aalaa.
Dear brothers Mr. Ibrahim Ansari and Mr. Ibn Abdul Wahid
Thanks for your moral supports too.
Please go through the following beautiful paragraph written by Mr.Ibn Abdul Wahid,
//Our Prophet Muhammadh sallallahu alaihivasallam also delivered his speech in Hajjathul vidaa - during on his last haj pilgrimage after he got many sahaabas Raliyallahu anhoom who embrassed islaam. Said to them that there is no difference between those who are speaking arab and non-arab but thaqwa in the sight of Allah Subhanahutha aalaa. //
To read it sounds excellent similar to delivering a speech..
Whenever we use short form the mind and mouth are not pronouncing it. But full forms are clearly caught in the eyes sight, going to the mind, and spoken out clearly, and it seems excellent to hear(ourselves too).
Well done brother Mr. Ibn Abdul Wahid.
Thanks and best regards,
